  Courses of International Drama School

These courses have been invented to teach, train and build the dreams of those who have the talent and that are willing to dedicate their time and skills from a basic to a higher level and achieve becoming a professional actor.

Most acting classes are designed to focus on just acting without extending students capabilities; they don’t build on your personal skills or building your confidence to feel comfortable and at ease around an audience and a camera. These courses will allow students to gain, knowledge, courage and confidence in themselves as well as improve and embrace their acting skills.

Not only will students acting be developed but they will also learn how to present themselves clearly and professionally.They will also learn the use of a camera. There will be numerous scripts and dialogues to be learnt which will not only benefit their performance now but gear them up for the future, these courses are designed to improve the foundation skills owned now, improve and develop them to the best ability possible and work in a friendly and supportive environment.

Learning Objectives:

  • To gain confidence with a camera and in front of the audience.

  • To differ between the different types of method acting such as; theatre, film.

  • To develop basic skills and use the improved ones to create a believable performance.

  • To interpret every script in a different way and create unique and individual characteristics.

  • To be able to give the camera what it wants and play off another actors reactions.

  • To be able to identify the tone and movement of a script.

  • To gain knowledge on how to survive and make it as an actor in the future.

Acting Analysis

The intention is to provide students with the basic skills and knowledge of acting analysis. Students will study various techniques of Acting and the reactions from body language as well as various genres. Students will be required to memorize scripts and monologues, create individual characterizations and incorporate movement into performances and prepare students for the future.

Voice, direction and speech

This offers basic training to develop crucial skills and achieve a much higher level of self awareness and control with voice command. This process will also allow development in voice limit and projecting it to an audience. Development in these skills will also achieve a higher level of confidence and clarity of speech.

Acting theory

This examination of performance studies literature with a focus on the craft of acting. The use of basic knowledge and creativeness of the mind will be developed by pushing expectations and expanding the mind. The course is geared toward the theoretical interests and practical needs of student directors with an emphasis on "responding creatively" to the material in written form and actual performance; this will also create an individual method for acting.

Improvisation

is the art of acting and reacting, in the moment and it often focuses on bringing one's personal awareness "into the moment," and on developing a profound understanding for the action one is doing. This fusion of "awareness" and "understanding" brings the practitioner to tikhe point where he or she can act with a range of options that best fit the situation. The study of the skills and techniques of improvisation can strongly influence ones competence in Acting. Techniques of improvisation are widely trained in the entertainment arts, for example, music, theatre, singing and dance.
